The Friends of Wiveton Church

TWO CONCERTS IN MARCH
The Friends will be presenting two highly attractive concerts in Wiveton Church in early March.

On Saturday 3"1 March at 5.00pm the choral group VOCALITY, who have established a very fine reputation through their recent concerts in Norfolk, will be performing "IT MUST BE LOVE" – a selection of great music drawn from older to modern times celebrating love in its many forms. For further details please see the advertisement in this issue.

A week later, on Saturday 10th March at 6.30pm (please note the difference in starting times) the prodigiously talented pianist, HARRIET STUBBS, will be giving a recital of music by Beethoven, Chopin and Prokofiev.

Born in 1989, Harriet gave her first public performance at the age of four. With a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music, she attained Grade 8 Piano with Distinction when she was seven, and two years later she was performing piano concertos, including Rachmaninov's 2nd Concerto at the age of fifteen. From the age of twelve Harriet has featured in numerous TV and Radio programmes. In 1TV's "Britain's Brilliant Prodigies" Julian Lloyd Webber voted Harriet as one of the three top pianists in Britain. After taking her first degree at Trinity College of Music, Harriet is now studying for her Master's degree at the Manhattan School of Music. She has played to capacity audiences in the UK, Italy and Spain. Her programme for this March includes further recitals in England before she returns to New York to resume her studies and give a recital there.

The Friends of Wiveton Church are delighted to welcome Harriet for this recital. She comes to us by invitation of one of our members, Martin Woodcock, who first heard her play in a concert at his old school, Christ's Hospital. We are indebted to Martin for enabling us to hear this outstanding musician and also to Trevor Poyser for generously providing his piano for Harriet's recital. Tickets £10 will be available at the door, but can be reserved in advance and collected in the church on the night of the performance. Ring 01263 740337 or 01263 740935. Refreshments will be served in the interval. Proceeds to the Church's Fabric Fund.
