This is advance notice that the Harvest Supper will be held on FRIDAY 17th September. Please note that this year the harvest supper will be on the Friday.. BV
Friends of Wiveton Church
The Summer Bank Holiday Stalls on the Green will be held on Monday 30th August, between 10.30am and 12.30pm. We hope that, unlike the stalls in May, the weather will be kind and warm, and allow us to use the lovely setting of The Green, with the addition of tea, coffee and scones being served in the Church.
Contributions of cakes, biscuits, scones and preserves of all kinds will be greatly appreciated, as will all kinds of bric-a-brac, books, plants, fruit and vegetables. We are so grateful to all of you who contributed to the success of the May Stalls, and hope you will feel able to help us once again in August.
In spite of the weather, the May Stalls raised over £600 on that morning, and it would be wonderful if the August Stalls could bring the total up to well over the £1000 mark for this year's efforts. We need to start on restoring the next window in the church as soon as funds are available.
Please bring to the Stalls whatever goods and produce you can, between 10 & 10.30am - and encourage your friends to come and buy them!

Founding of "The Friends of Wiveton Church"
All who care about the future of our beautiful church, whether through attending services or simply because they value its beauty and key role in our village, are invited to join the newly formed "Friends of Wiveton Church". The PCC and the Wiveton Parish Council will both be represented on its committee.
We only have to ask ourselves "What would the village of Wiveton be like if the church fell into disrepair and had to be demolished?" to appreciate the need to keep it in good repair. With a small resident population, we need to widen the circle of support for our church in order to meet the substantial costs of conserving and maintaining it.
The church is now the setting for many concerts, exhibitions and meetings as well as the weekly services and baptisms, weddings and funerals and the distribution of The Raulf Greneway grants. Its special occasions such as the Iceni Choir Carol Service and the big Family Services at Christmas and Easter are also widely enjoyed and appreciated.
All members of the village, and many who live beyond it, are warmly invited to help in securing the future of our church by becoming Friends. A minimum contribution of £10 a year is suggested. Those who feel able to contribute more will be adding further welcome support. Friends will enjoy priority booking for events such as concerts and meetings etc, and there will be an Annual General Meeting and regular reports, to keep people in touch with future needs, plans and events.
If you have not yet received an invitation to join the Friends and would like to do so, please contact the Secretary, Robert Harris, on 01263 740090. We hope you will want to support this important effort to safeguard our church for future generations.
