Saxlingham
is an attractive village situated between Field Dalling and Holt.
The mediaeval church is situated in the centre of the village and
is well maintained.
There are 26 dwellings made up of two estate-owned Farmhouses and
various farm cottages, the rest being privately owned including
a Manor House, an Old Rectory, two converted barns, a converted
school room, seven other houses standing in their own grounds and
five semi detached cottages.
There are 44 residents, 11 of whom are children, plus 12 adults
and 3 children who are second-home owners who visit at weekends
and for holidays. We do not have any shops or a pub. We share a village hall and
an Annual Fete with Field Dalling. Our local schools are at Langham,
Hindringham, and Holt.
We
usually hold three fund raising events per year including a Jazz
concert in the church in June performed by pupils of Greshams
School We share Mothering Sunday, Harvest Festival and Remembrance
Sunday with Field Dalling, the venue changing on alternate years.
We would like this close relationship to continue to be fostered. |
